The 7–10 working day shape
The exact sequence follows the situation, but the boundary stays fixed.
- Confirm fit first, then agree the scope, access, participation, and fixed price before work begins.
- Inspect the current operating evidence and choose one intervention.
- Run that intervention with the team and record its guardrails.
- Leave the decision trail, working artifact, verification result, and next-owner note with the client.
What is outside the Sprint
Keeping the boundary narrow stops the intervention from turning into an open-ended consulting queue.
- No free audit or report-only assessment.
- No staff augmentation, backlog ownership, or broad transformation programme.
- No guaranteed outcome where the required access, baseline, or decision rights are missing.
- No public numeric price. The fixed price is stated after fit is confirmed.
What happens at the boundary
At the boundary, the client makes a decision instead of receiving a vague recommendation to keep talking.
- Stop when the evidence says further work would not be useful.
- Continue into a separately bounded Fractional CTO engagement when ongoing decision rights are needed.
- Handoff to the named internal owner with the artifact, verification result, and operating guardrails.
